HSEQ Advisor
The role will be to provide leadership, supervision, guidance, advice and support to meet Goal zero and the objectives in the HSEQ Policy and Operational Excellence Plans, and to ensure compliance with Peterson Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards, legal requirements and local MCOCL HSSEQ requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibility to support the site management and existing HSEQ Advisor to achieve effective compliance to Peterson HSEQ management system. Train, support, coach and provide advice to site management to ensure their compliance to applicable Peterson HSEQ procedures and legal regulatory requirements relating to HSEQ. Participate in client audits on site. Ensuring effective close out of actions where required. Lead internal and supplier audits to requirements of audit procedures, schedules and plans. Ensure actions raised are fed back and effective close out actions are achieved.· Manage and maintain compliance with MCOCL contractor HSSEQ requirements.· Seek to continually improve the HSEQ performance of Peterson through innovations and striving to achieve best practice.· Provide guidance to site management and supervisors on completion of incident reports and implementation of actions from report.· Delivery of comprehensive and in-depth HSEQ inductions to new starts.· Creation and maintenance of safety signage schedule.· Assist site management in environmental management on site.· Development of training packages on HSEQ topics.· Participate in incident investigations to determine root cause, identify key lessons and make recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.· Act as ATLAS coordinator for corrective actions for Peterson staff on site.· To intervene, and hold safety conversations where required. Travel to other Peterson sites as required (on request of Manager& HSEQ Advisor).
Performance Measure: Performance will be reviewed both formally and informally at regular intervals against objectives set during the appraisal process.
Qualifications and experience:
Essential: Certified member of IOSH looking to achieve charted status, NEBOSH diploma or NVQ level 5/6. Auditor qualification· Training experience/qualification to deliver IOSH courses Presentation skills and ability to develop presentations materials. Good communication skills; including safety conversations and interventions. Ability to research topics and deliver effective guidance· Ability to develop training packages and deliver training as required. Risk, DSE, PUWER, Manual Handling assessor and COSHH assessment training. Previous experience in working in logistics/warehousing in a safety role.
Desirable:
ISO9001/14001/45001 lead auditor certificate/internal auditor training·
